MEMBERSHIPS
Joining the library is very easy! Just come into the library with a piece of ID and sign up! Children and teens under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when getting or renewing a membership. For those not living in Lancaster Park or Sturgeon County, please read the section regarding non-residents.
The Edmonton Garrison Community Library is a "public library," not a military library strictly for DND members and their families. While we do our best to serve the needs of the military community and focus our collection development accordingly, we cannot waive non-resident status because you are a member of DND. Our staff will do our best to direct you to your home library to obtain your TAL card after which you can gain access to our collection. However, having a TRAC/TAL card is a wonderful thing: you can use it at any participating library in Alberta, including such libraries as Edmonton Public, St. Albert Public, Calgary Public, Wainwright and Cold Lake.
RESIDENTS*
Adult $12.60
Family $12.60... Families include the adults and any children, residing in a single residence.
*Residing in: Sturgeon County (including Bon Accord, Gibbons, Morinville, Redwater), Lancaster Park, or single quarters in Edmonton Garrison.
NON-RESIDENTS AND RECIPROCAL PATRONS
Including public and military members living in Edmonton, Legal, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, etc.
Non-resident fee of $60 + membership fee applies. Non-residents are encouraged to visit their home library to obtain your free Alberta Library Card. Your TAL card allows you to have walk-in borrower privileges at any other participating library, including Edmonton Garrison, for free. See more about TAL.
However, if you live in Edmonton and have a membership at Edmonton Public Library which is current and in good standing (no fines), you can purchase a reciprocal membership from the Edmonton Garrison. The membership fee is listed above. The benefits are that, as opposed to a TAL card, you are not limited in your access of services and you support the library.
